Woes Of A Estrogen Therapy
(Don't Know)

Publicidade
The National Institute of health halted a trial of a estrogen therapy in many US women because it increase the risk of strokes and fails to protect against heart disease. The institute limited harmone therapy primarily to uses where all agree it is a valuable short-term treatment to relieve acute symptoms of menopause like hot flashes and vaginal discomforts.
Although the treatment was once promoted as an anti - aging elixir toward off chronoic illness and make women feel more energetic , mentally sharper , and more sexually responsive, a serious of studies have questioned its persumed benefits and highlighted the risks. In July 2002 , federal health officials halted a large scale trial of combined estrogenprogestin pills that was causing more harms than good, notably by increasing breast cancer and strokes.
Now a part of the study that used a estrogen alone for women who had hysterectomies has also been halted. Opinions varied, but the estrogen pill clearly increased the risk of dementia or mild congnitive impairment undercutting the belief that the pills are good for mental alertness. The encouraging finding was that a estrogen alone, Unlike the combination pills, Did not increase the risk of breast cancer.
The harmone treatment reduced clearly the risk of fractures, even that should be given in severe risk cases of osteoporosi, Who cannot take alternative medicine. Best is to use the lowest dose for the shortest time.
