Friderick Shiller wrote drama that shows an idealist protest against Feudal relationship, its tyranny and deceitful reality. Karol Moore, a rioter or brigand if you prefer, is the hero of the drama. His brother plots an intrigue, so Karol lost home and father?s love as result. He becomes leader of the Highwaymen to stay in opposite to fossilized relationship. He tries to fight for forgotten justice. Karol came back to homeland to set free his father imprisoned by brother. Father died short after and Karol?s brother made suicide. To be honest to his comrades he must kill Amelia who loves him. He is starting to understand that he will not change such reality this way. Karol brought himself to justice at last. ?Highwaymen?, drama with high emotions was famous in a period of Romanticism. Readers of those times were admiring the characters of noble brigands gnawing by their own inner anxieties.
