(Dan Brown)

Publicidade
Introduction:

Deception Point, written by Dan Brown. The publisher was Corgi Books and it was first published in 2002.

Dan Brown has written ?The Da Vinci Code?, ?Angels and Demons? and ?Digital Fortress?. He is well known for these American novels internationally and does write other novels of the thriller genre.

Plot:
The President, Zach Herney is undergoing some competition in the poll ratings this last week with Senator Sedgewick Sexton. The Senator has managed to climb quite high in the polls recently due to the release of important information to the nation. This information was that the president has spent all tax money for the funding of NASA projects. This puts the president in an awkward position.

However, all is solved eventually as Sexton?s daughter, Rachel Sexton, who works for the President?s campaign (against her father?s), undergoes a rather unusual day at work. She normally decides which pieces of information gets sent in to the president and from him. However, this day undergoes meeting the president for the first time in her career, being flown up to the Arctic Circle to find out about a NASA discovery.

NASA?s discovery is like a dream come true for the president, seen as he has had a low count of polls recently because all of the tax money invested in NASA because the money invested into NASA has found an interesting discovery in the earth.

As Rachel Sexton is flown up to the Arctic Circle, to work with a team of experts to find out what is so special about this discovery she finds out that this discovery is of a meteorite, but not any ordinary meteorite.

It was lucky in the end that the president did invest the tax money into NASA because the evidence of the rock seemed to be false science. It was in that a bold deception that could false the world into a large disagreement which could be threatening to all nations.

The level of suspense in which the book is written in is increasingly tensional which makes it more enjoyable as you are getting to the point but you are picking up more information which relates to other parts of the book.

The other part of the style that I like is when there are two or possibly three stories going on at the same time which means that you have to keep up with it at all times. Overall I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be kept in suspense and on a constant cliff hangar.
