As we could expect a lot of mails in the doorstep of our house, when we return from a long trip, Arthur Dent also receives a lot of junk mails in his computer system when he returns back to his undestroyed home from which the first part of the series ?the Hitch Hiker?s Guide to the Galaxy? started. Also receives a decorative fish bowl inscribed with words ?So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish.? Later Arthur finds out that most of the other people who are living around the place have also received the same kind of present.

Simultaneously, Ford Perfect discovers some facts related to the reappearance of the Earth. Later using this unusual situation, tries to play some tricks on the sales person of the Cybernetics Corporation and get some earth movies in which he wanted to see the climax, as he failed to see because the Earth was destroyed earlier.

Arthur Dent, the hero of the series, then falls in romance with a girl Fenchurch in this new planet, they together find the secret of the present Earth through the decorative fish bowl they received. They also find a secret that the second most intelligent creatures in the earth, dolphins have helped the present Earth to evolve with a motto to save the human beings.
However, Arthur leaves the Earth along with Fenchurch, in search of the God?s final message to all his creations. Park is the person who knows most of the secrets of the truth as he witnessed the crime scene of Argabuthon. This man was given an overdose of the truth serum and called upon to reveal the truth. Most of the truth was shockingly filled with horror. When Arthur dent comes and finds this man he was at the verge of death with unusual laugh from his face. Fortunately, Arthur manages to get the address of the God?s last message to his creation. Later finds Marvin in his final count down. So this book is yet another series filled with sentiments and emotions ends with some tragic situation. But still, quite interesting to read such a good fiction novel.
