Aesthetic presentation of food is very important as it adds more sophistication and splendor to the dish. Perfect cooking is not all about perfection but also about how artistically it has presented. Entities such as delicate china, arty style and décor play a tremendous role in the perfection of cooking. Without this, impressing a gourmet would indeed be very difficult to achieve.
South Asian cooking is indeed very difficult to attain because this cuisine is very varied. Therefore different cooks have their own individualistic flavors as it depends entirely upon as to how they cook it. For e.g. my mother is famous because of her expertise in cooking sweet dishes.
