Matilda
Written by Roald Dahl

This is an excellent book for people of all ages written by Roald Dahl. The story is about a girl who has measly, horrid parents but she has some excellent brain power to outwit these parents and her beastly headmistress Miss Trunchbull. The author uses fascinating phrases to make the book come alive. The book is really catchy and also it is very humorous. But the really amazing thing about this book is what goes on. The three words I would use to describe the book are miraculous, furious and funny.

Despite this excellent book there are a few things, which don?t add to the book or don?t belong to the book. These make some weaknesses in the book. There are parts of the book were the author talks about children who are blisters but their parents are wonderful. This isn?t really needed in the story. There are also parts of the story were the author describes the movements of the girl Matilda at the library. He says, ? The only sound made from the reader was the turning of the page. There are some parts like that in the story [which if you are reading for the first time] that you would think are really unnecessary and as you really want to find out what is going on you would think. What?s that? You could also think it might be a good idea to put it in brackets.

This book is dominated by something very furious [which was my second word] it really gives the book impact and power. This furious person is called Miss Trunchbull. The Trunchbull [as she is called] can do some very strange things but her big secret is that her story [that she throws pupils over the fence] is too stupid to be believed. The only way the Trunchbull can be beaten is by someone with a power and Matilda finds out she has a power and writes a message from Miss Honey?s [Matilda?s teacher] dead father to Miss Trunchbull. After this what happens to Miss Trunchbull. You read and find out.
