Brecht: A Choice Of Evils
(Martin Esslin)

Publicidade
Martin Esslin has written a book here about Brecht the writer of plays and poems:
He has chosen to underline the translations and references to all the other
work that Brecht used: Brecht - Esslin believes - was influenced by
English Drama including Gay's Beggars Opera:

His parable form which is really a form of story telling is well documented:
the critical analysis there if you read on ... you will find much to engage
the interest of the reader.

There is a lot of translation from German into English: Somehow the Computer
was not as influential in the 20th Century as it is now, I guess.

You would simply have to turn on your DVD Writer and play
LANGUAGE SELECTION and have the play or story telling episodes in
a: the original language
b. your own language:

Communism is well covered and there are traces of this in Brecht's work though a lot of readers and dramatists believe that Brechtian drama was rich in Christian imagery and metaphor! Thus the circle of writers who hold to the notion of Brecht's mastery of language.

Martin Esslin has produced a classic work here and I recommend it to all of those interested in Theatre in Europe!
