George and Fernando were thick friends. Their parents were closely involved in the business and by that way they became very close. George and fernando were very clever and scored high marks in the class. George was very obedient to his parents. He always got up early and helped his family to reduce strain to his father and mother. He also knew cooking. After finishing his house works, he used to visit the church and prayed. In the evening after returning home, he spent a lot of time in reading to improve his knowledge. He loved God and was very devoted. Fernando was just opposite to his friend. He was a lazy boy.He did not help his family. He never prayed God and he had the habit of wandering here and there and spent his time without any use. George adviced Fernando many times, but he didn't listen to his words.
One day fernando wanted to see a movie. He invited his friend. But George was about to go to the church. He told his friend that he was going to the church and he asked Fernando to join him. Fernando replied that he was going to enjoy the movie and he was not interested in praying inside the church. Gerorge went to the church and his friend Fernando went to see that movie. After returning from the church he met his friend and told that he met with an accident but escaped with minor injuries. Fernando felt very much for his friend. Fernando was glad to inform Gerorge that he had found a gold chain on the way to home from the theatre. He was very happy about it. He told Geroge that he was praying regularly and he was injured, and he received a reward while back from a movie. George was worried of the incident. They met an old priest and asked the reason for that.
Since he knew all the three stages of life, he said, Geroge, according to your fate, you should have suffered a fatal injury and since you were on the way to the church, you escaped from a major threat to your life. Fernando, according to your fate, you should have got a big booty and since you were not sincere with God, you have been given with a gold chain alone.
This story explains that the regular prayer to God is necessary for everyone to lead the life peacefully.
