Love In The Time Of Cholera
(Gabriel Garcia Marquez)

Publicidade
this book was beautifully written by gabriel garcia marquez. It touches our souls in a non-understanding way. It tells a story of Florentino Ariza, Fermina Daza and Juvenal Urbino. Florentino falls in love with Fermina, the romance lasts while they write each other a few letters, but when she meets her admirer, she refuses to marry him and marries someone else, Urbino, with whom she lives over 50 years. The love of Florentino is a never ending love and keeps him alive during the whole time. At the end of the book, Florentino and Fermina meet each other once again to end the old story.
Garcia Marquez tells the story in a way that keeps us with the books opened. we already know the story and we question ourselves what he probably will keep telling us because it misses still too many sheets. He speaks of other not so important characters and he can share with the readers his extremely contagious humor. He creates fabulous and repulsive literary creatures, he almost throws the dice - but with the great talent.
For me, the love story is a sofisticated pastiche about the great love stories. Gabo fools us unshamelessly, proposing to tell us the story of Florentino and Fermina, when he really enchants us with the commotioning banalities of the routine love of Fermina and Urbino.
