Pride And Prejudice
(Jane; Austen)

Publicidade
On Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, a much acclaimed book. I wonder how much of today's society lean towards her portrial of male, female relationships. Romance from this book is not easily picked up, until right at the very end. The main body of the story takes a path of the social roles between men and women then eventually, although painfully dragged out, is the romance fully presented. I will however say that it is a book so captivating its hard to set it down. Jane Austen's transcending voice, will echo for eternity. Her way of thinking of the time in which lived in is impressive. For a woman of her generation to have remarkably devoted creative energy into a literature masterpiece, of which, she portrays very interesting traits of both males and females. As one dives into this captivating tale the opening statement; 'It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife', suggests that Austen is going to present to the audience the underlying evidence to such a bold statement. No wonder that this book is timeless. It depicts ever so clearly relationships between man and woman, something that no human being can escape. We judge each other on the most simplest of things and make assumptions, of which we so fervantly believe untill we are struck by an antithesis of reality. Austen displays the truth that two people of so different a background can be brought together by such a force, that is love. This force overlooks the frivolous facts that we measure ourselves by. And notably it brings about a blind spot: 'To be sure, you knew no actual good of me?but nobody thinks of that when they fall in love.' truth or not. I think we can gleen from the events of this book. Though it be fiction, indeed. But the transcending message of love that occurs between two very different people, that isnt stagnanted by social structure or tradition or background is a winner for one who thinks out of the box.
