A Match Made In Heaven
(Shari MacDonald)
The second installment in the ?Salinger Sisters? series, A Match Made in Heaven by Shari MacDonald, packs many laughs, not just small, internal ones but the out-loud kind! One handsome psychiatrist, who, by the way, used to be a nerd, must be married in a month or else he will not receive his substantial inheritance. His sister is determined to find him a wife before the month is up, and turns to dating services for assistance. Enter Lucy Salinger, the successful, unmarried, owner of the match making organization, Rent-a-Yenta. Once their hilarious first meeting, including an allergic reaction to anti-histamine and a lot of drool, is out of the way, the book is a delightful account of her disastrous attempts to pair him off, once with a feminist, and her own clumsy experiences when he enters the room. She herself is determined to not date any of her clients, which sometimes borders on men in general. It?s up to the gorgeous psychiatrist, Campbell Howard, to finally make Lucy realize that she has fallen madly in love with him. If this sounds good, the climax is better. To apologize to Campbell, Lucy dresses up in a giant nut costume, makes up a really goof song, and then mistakenly performs her whole routine in front of several of Campbell?s older colleagues! Then she goes on a wild chase to Campbell?s rustic cabin, where their meeting is, as you would expect, hilarious; romantic, but hilarious nonetheless. You?ll be endeared by Lucy?s antics, Campbell?s charm and romance, and the rest of the characters? wild schemes to get Lucy and Campbell matched. Add great lessons about trusting God, and you have one of the best comedy books of our Christian generation. Shari MacDonald is truly a gifted author who knows what makes people laugh, and acts upon it. I guarantee that you will be in stitches within the first twenty pages.
