The Times Of India
(Dewaker)
Pulp might have never been so much in demand in the cities had it not been The Times of India. A daily newspaper, apparently having the world's largest readership, which has in the recent times given a new dimention for the meaning of a 'newspaper'. Some say it as Americanization, some say it to be utter vulgarity (refer metro supplement spaces), some vouch for its ruthless attitude towards its competitors, but what is really fascinating about this paper is the way they have always morphed with the times. That is the reason they have always given what the present generation wanted. And this generation in India (college going) wanted somebody to empathize with their culture and help them vent out their emotions. And lo..The Times of India did that exactly! It hit on the raw nerves of the teenagers through their city supplements, adding zing to it through their page 3 celeb culture (and of course by giving what these teens wanted to see). There are some shady stories that run in hushed voices in the edia sector about the Times unethical mechanisms, but that would have to be proved to be said right! All in all, The Tmes of India - Writing Headings - 4.5/5 In depth stories - 2.5/5 Marketing & Hype - 5/5
