Artemis Fowl; The Opal Deception
(Colfer; Eoin)

Publicidade
From the colourful cover and complicated looking illustrations, we were led to expect an exciting and gripping story from the acclaimed Eoin Colfer. But those who harbour such delusions, were disappointed. With the repetitive nature of the main personalities and the same old life-or-death situations, you might as well just buy the first book and re-read it a few times; Colfer even had to make some of the main characters forget the previous texts, fictional beings were getting bored. The supposedly tragic events entailed within the tale fail to even draw an expression with this reader. The poor writing quality and sloppy dialogue lead us to the conclusion that this is a writer on his last legs, in a desperate attmept to buy himself some last minute fame. Overall, this book wasn't worth the paper it was written on, and this 'talented' Irish writer should take the hint and return to the fairyland he lives in.
