?Ajax? which celebrates there one of the most valorous warriors of the Trojan War, wire of Télamon,who was the most extremely warrior of Greek after Achille. That?s the part dating from the beginning of the career of Sophocle,
When Achilles dies, Ajax and Ulysses dispute the weapons which the Greeks finally allot to Ulysses. Ajax sinks then in distress it and the fury which change finally into insanity.
One night, he rises in prey to a crisis of madness and cuts the throat of all the herds of the Greek army, believing to strike his enemies.
The coin begins in the morning from this night when Ajax took again his spirits and, conscious of his mislaying, he appears probably to make an attempt on its life.

But Ajax don?t hear her supplications and remained he is thrown finally on its sword.
The remainder of the coin sees to clash Ménélas, which is opposed to the burial of Ajax and Ulysses which obtains from Agamemenon that funeral is granted to him.

In ?Ajax?, the art of Sophocle did not reach its full maturity yet and, in the second portion of a piece, after the death of the hero, the interest of the public weakens.
