(Nora Roberts)
Callie Dunbrook, quite pretty miss archaeologist starts new excavations. The discovery of a colony which is 5 thousand years old is really a big and global event.Unfortunately not everything goes the way which heroine of the novel would like it to.The first problem is her ex husband, who becouse of his occupation unexpectedly comes to the excavation.Prospective co-operation with an irritating partner rouses pretty large misgivings.Callie, however, still hurt loves him secretly. But it is not the end of her problems. One day strange woman, who says that she is her mother, visits her.Unknown shows her pictures of women from her family and her own ones.Very big resemblance makes Callie's doubts. She decides to go to her family home and find any evidence about that woman is wrong. It is a complete surprise to Callie when she finds out she has been adopted... Really great novel, full of sarcasm and not trite dialoques. There is a romance between ex husband and wife who have not easy characters,in the foregroung.Againts background of mysteriousness and beauty of exavations and archaeologist's life there is the case of adoption and feelings connected with it,in the middle distance. An authoress is known from her books for women but I am sure this one will like also men.
