L'arrache Coeur
(vian;boris)

Publicidade
The book ?L'Arrache coeur ? of Boris Vian goes back to 1953. He has also written a great number of songs, novels: ?L'ecume des jours?, ?Le Loup-garou?, ?J'irais cracher sur vos tombes?, ?L'herbe rouge?? and some poems.
The book is placed in a poetic universe , completely surrealist and extravagant. For the children who live there, this is a fairy tale, they can do whatever they want, as they desire, and are totally free. But when it comes to the adults, this is a strange and distressing world where cruelty knows no boundaries.
The story begins when a psychiatrist seeking a ?total? psychoanalysis, comes to settle in a small village where he meets a couple with the young woman about to give birth. She can no longer bear any contact with her husband whom she has for several weeks locked up in an isolated chamber. She finally gives birth to triplets (Noel, Joel and Citroen) that she increasingly dangerously overprotects. Her husband will end up building a boat and leave.
Most of the story takes place at the village where the adults living there are capable of the worst abominations like the ?the elderly fair? where old people are sold by bids. Several other somewhat bizarre characters wander throughout the book.
This troubling book, where the dysfunctions of a deranged society are brought to light, disturbs, stigmates the mind. One will notice the author's very vivid imagination, his writing rich in neologisms, wittiness, and metaphors. The language is completely reinvented in a world where everything is possible even the most incredible, but also the most unbearable.
