(Edgar Rice Burroughs; Joe R Lonsdale)

Publicidade
After five years away from the jungle Tarzan came back to his childhood home, the forest where he was raised by a female ape and has grown to be like them, skilled in climbing trees, hunting and mastering the animals around him. He found a group of Legionaire deserters who were following a safari made up of Hanson and his daughter Jean, Hunt and Small. Their gear, food and weapons were hijacked by the stragglers. They were left without much food and water and no weapons to protect them against the wild animals. Tarzan killed an antelope for them. He brought his pet lion Jad-bal-ja to scare and overpower the deserters and took their gear and food except the weapons and some stuff which were hidden by the stragglers. The deserters were able to capture him but he was able to escape. Tarzan learned that Hanson is actually looking for the lost civilization of Ur. Jean was captured by the warriors of Ur and Hanson and Billy, one of the load-bearers were left wounded. Hunt and Small were lost. The stragglers have them captive again and small was killed trying to rescue them. Hunt was found by Tarzan and while sheltering from a tornado they found Jad-bal-ja in a cavern. Tarzan traced the scent of Jean to Ur. He too was overpowered and put in the same prison where Jean and Nyuma, another captive was. The cavern actually where Hunt was left was underneath the arena where Kurvandi, the king of Ur staged a fight between the slaves and Jeda, one of his lovers. Hunt got lost and the lion found him and together they looked for an exit. Even Jad-bal-ja was uneasy about the scary thing they sensed that was following them. It was actually a beastly creature called Ebopa whom they idolised as a God and sacrificed many slaves to please him. Jean was the only white among the captured. One of the habits of Kurvandi was to bathe in the fresh warm blood of captives where most of them were beheaded. Jeda and Jean were put into the arena to fight. Jeda was really overpowering Jean until Jad-bal-ja and Hunt found their way into the arena above with Ebopa. Jad-bal-ja rode the head of Ebopa and started fighting it. The two king's lions joined in fighting the beast. One lion was fighting and clawing and fighting the beast and Ebopa threw him away and he landed on Kurvandi and was crushed to death. Tarzan and Nyuma joined in the fighting. Now the beast wanted a human meal when he saw Hunt but he slipped away. The wounded beast went after the inhabitants of Ur. They frightfully scampered away everywhere and all hell broke loose. Nyuma helped Jean and Hunt escape. Jad-bal-ja was wounded and Tarzan asked them to carry him to safety. Mhey bore him on the king's litter and they found Hanson and Billy outside. Meanwhile the Ur inhabitants upturned lamps and torches in their haste and burned their kingdom. Tarzan stayed behind to look for Ebopa. He was fatally hurt by the three lions. Ebopa was down the cavern and died. Tarzan discovered that Ebopa was actually two sexed and laid an egg now and then. All the stampede and rushing off of the inhabitants has weakened the foundations of the cavern and it caved in on Tarzan and the egg. The city crumbled and its people fled. Tarzan passed out and then woke up and the egg has hatched. Hanson and company went back to civilization. Tarzan stayed in the jungle, his home.
