Alex Rider is in France enjoying a holiday with his friend Sabina. But he finds out Yassen [Yassen killed Alex?s uncle] is there. When Sabina?s father goes to hospital, everyone thought it was a pipe blockade but Alex knows Yassen must have tried to kill him.
Alex finds that Sabina?s dad wrote an article about Damien Craig. When Alex tries to kill Yassen, Alex is grabbed and finds himself in a bullfight but instead of killing the bull he kills Yassen?s Colleague and runs of the pitch. Alex finds Damien Craig?s telephone number on Yassen?s mobile phone.
Alex tells MI6 about Damian Craig but they do not believe him. He then decides he?ll hunt down Damien Craig on his own. Alex goes to a show of Damien Craig?s and finds out he is making a new play station game. When it all finishes a Journalist dies in a car crash. Alex knows Damian is behind it.
Alex goes to France and finds out from someone that they know Damien Craig is a killer and is in Amsterdam, but suddenly the man gets killed. Alex with Jack [his carer] goes by train to Amsterdam. He then goes to the place where Damian Craig is. Alex gets into the building and then watches Damien Craig killing a man with thousands of coins. Alex suddenly gets caught and is locked up in a room. Alex finds a hole, which he goes through then he finds himself on the new play station game but this time it?s for real. Alex fakes being dead and follows some ancient Greek gods out. Alex then gets something from Damien Craig [that is really valuable to him] then Alex leaves.
Alex and Jack fly back to England, Alex goes to Damien Craig and Damien Craig threatened to kill Sabina so Alex gives him his precious thing. Damien Craig goes to Heathrow airport with Alex and takes a private plane and Damien sets of 25 bombs all to different places on the Earth.
Alex and Sabina go on a plane. When Yassen refuses to kill Alex Damien kills Yassen then shots a bullet at Alex but Alex has a bulletproof jacket. Alex and Sabina fight Damien till he rolls out the plane.
Yassen gets up almost dead and says to Alex ?I worked with your father if you don?t believe me then go to Venice, find Scorpia and find your destiny?
