Sathya Sai Speaks series is according to late Professor N Kasturi, the original translator and compiler, ?a fragrant bouquet of flowers that never fade or falter?.
This book, volume 22 consists of 38 discourses of Sri Sathya Saibaba in the year 1989.
The first chapter, ?Perseverance-the key to achievement?, Baba reveals that the puranas (sacred scriptures of Hindus) have described the lives of great exemplars of nine forms of devotion. They are Parikshit for listening to the glories of God, Narada for singing the praises of God, Prahlada for remembering the Lord?s name, Prithu for offering worship, Akrura for prostration, Hanuman for Service, Arjuna for friendship, Lakshmi for worshipping the feet of the Lord, and Bali for total surrender.
In Sanskrit the above nine forms of devotions are called as Sravanam, Keerthanam, Smranam, Archanam, Vandhanam, Seva, Sakhyam, Padasevanam, Atmanivedhanam.
The chapter, ?Become Ideal Citizens? explains the two types of bliss in the world namely Acquired bliss and Self-generating bliss.
The chapter, ?Live in the Divine? advises us to live in Truth; live in Bliss; live in Divine.
The chapter, ?Where to find God? reveals the secret that the Lord dwells within man.
The chapters, ?From Love: to love?, ?The name that redeems?, ?Experiencing the Omnipresence?, ?Love all: Serve all?, ?Message of the Vedas?, ?The Cosmic indweller? etc are all interesting and informative. A glossary is also added to provide comprehensive and detailed explanation of the more important Sanskrit words for the benefit of lay readers. This would also beneficial for the foreigners too who could clearly understand more clearly the topics of Baba?s discourses covering a wide spectrum of Vedic Philosophy.
