this book is quite intersting, by an author whose work is second to none. Boasting a vast library of works, as well as immense depth in knowledge on all matters pertaining to the spiritual world, it is a well researched, thoroughly annotated and refenced as well as being quite straightforward to read and understand for bothe the layman and the scholar.
It gives the interested reader an Eastern Orthodox perspective on Life after death, in its most basic and straightforward form.
Citing both religious and secular refences, it is unbiased and uncompromising in its attempt to expound mysteries from the other side, so to speak, clearly not by personal experience but by inference and logic, with faith not a requirement, although if read on a spiritual lecel, the reader is bound to draw more from it then the cynic.
The author is well versed on all matters of the spirit being a western convert to Orthodoxy, after a brief but in depth study of Eastern mysticism.
It was only through his acceptance of Eastern Orthodoxy that he was able to soar above this day to day drudgery and break the shackels of serfdom which keep us all from flying free like eagles.
This is a must read for ALL, as it is a path that we ALL are going to have to take, no matter who we are or our stature in this life, and just like all inept travellers, who seek reading material prior to their up and coming trip in order to acquaint themselves with their intended destination, this is THE travel guide for all, as the destination is one which we will all be going to sooner or later.
Truly a hidden gem among a mound of coal currently available on such matters which are so important that we fail to realise what a true GIANT of spirituality this man truly is.
