Three billion people perished on Judgement Day. That was in August 1997 in Sarah and John Connor's world as Skynet developed a mind of its own and decided its enemies were all humans that inhabit this world. It has then decided to exterminate all of them with its arsenal of Terminators like the most powerful of them all, the T-XA. It was in 1994 when Sarah and John destroyed Skynet's defence system and also thereby destroying Cyberdyne's plans for 1997. They fled to Mexico city after. A human resistance was formed in John's world which was made up of the remaining human-robotic machines and Jade and Anton which were the only remaining specialist super humann wariors led by General John Connor, Jade and Anton from another world would help Sarah and John expose the activities of Cyberdyne which was the creator of T-XA. It was actually Sarah who trained him and who is supposed to be his mother and he is from another time line with young John Connor his counterpart. There are other human resistance fighters like Danny, Cecilia, Juanita and others who would help quash the rebels who are frustrating the human's efforts to fight Skynet as well. Danny was programming the time vaults that will make them travel into another world or time line to fight the rebel forces in South America and Europe. One or a few of the humans would enter the time vault with a T-799 or T-800 to protect them as they are short of warriors unlike the rebels and Skynet. After some success fighting rebel strongholds in South America, Sarah and young John decided to go to Jade's world via the time machine vault to help rescue it from Skynet's assault. Anton had already perished in one of the earlier assaults in another place and Jade is the only specialist left. Danny was able to program the T-1000 they found and transported to their base to equal the power ofthe terminator T-XA. This machine will survive massive explosions unlike the T-799 and T-800 which have their limits. With the help of the T-1000 they were able to fight their way and creep into the Skynet transporter and then reprogrammed by the T-1000 for their own use. They were able to help Jade's world survive and defeat Skynet. Now it is time to assault Skynet's headquarters in Colorado. The only human resistance fighting there was Devaux and he would soon be overpowered if General Connor's forces did not arrive on time. Devaux was killed defending his territory but General Connor's forces led by Jade, Sarah, young John and Cecilia exploded the entrance to the tunnel and one by one with their terminators they fought with the terminators of Skynet. Just on time yound John suddenly realised that Skynet was recreating itself into a T-XA and tried to scape in the time displacement vault. Their T-1000 prised the time vault and they shoved a T-800 with the T-XA. Instead of travelling into another world it disintegrated into pieces. So they were able to destroy Skynet permanently. They have decided before that when all the fighting is finished that they would destroy all the remaining terminators to prevent any mishaps like this happening again and they did. Soon Jade would return to her own world inspite of the love she and young John have for each other. Now when the world of humans is safe Sarah and young John would return to their world too. And they entered the time vault to return and landed in Calexico, California.
