Sathya Sai Speaks Volume 7
(Bhagavan Sri Sathya Saibaba)
Sathya Sai Speaks series is according to late Professor N Kasturi, the original translator and compiler, ?a fragrant bouquet of flowers that never fade or falter?. This book, volume 7 consists of 48 discourses of Sri Sathya Saibaba delivered during the year 1967. The chapter ?Milk and water? advises us to use the drug ?Ram?. The drug ?Raam, Raam, Raam, is to be swallowed and assimilated ad inifinitum. Its curative essence will travel into every limb, every sense, every nerve and every drop of blood. Every particle of the chanter will be transmuted into Raam. The chapter ?Stagnation in the same class? humorously explains the sage who used to catch his cat in advance before performing his homa and keep it in an inverted basket for the duration of the homa, so that he will be free from the trouble caused by the cat. His son without knowing the real cause carried out this cat-catching ceremony. That is an example of meaningless mechanicalisation. The chapter, ?Lamps lit from the same flame? explains about Prayer and Meditation. Prayer makes you a supplicant at the Feet of God; meditation induces God to come down to you and inspires you to raise yourselves to Him. Baba asks the devotee of what profit is to plaster all the wall space in his home with pictures of Swami (meaning himself) when He is not installed in his heart. In the chapter, ?The trail of wings? Baba explains the ideal of Hindu religion as ?From darkness lead me into light? ?No mirror, no image?, ?From every throat, his melody?, ?The key the sages own?, ?The mighty mahavaakyaa?, ?The world, a training ground?, Precept and example?, ?Three-in-one now? are all reveals astonishing facts of Hinduism. Each and every chapter in this book will lead the true follower in the right direction. A glossary is also added to provide comprehensive and detailed explanation of the more important Sanskrit words for the benefit of lay readers. This would also beneficial for the foreigners too who could clearly understand more clearly the topics of Baba?s discourses covering a wide spectrum of Vedic Philosophy This book is a must for all the students of Hinduism and also to the earnest seekers of the Truth.
