What Men Want?
(Raj Shankar)

Let me throw a few names on the table first. These names could be real and not so real.
Joan of Arc, Delilah, Mother Teresa, Belle Gunness , Valentina Vladimirovna Nikolayeva Tereshkova, Helene Jegado, Madame Curie, Mary Ann Cotton
Now, lets see some adage or remarks.
1. Frailty, thy name is woman - Shakespeare in Hamlet
2."Some women fake orgasms, but others fake whole relationships." (Sharon Stone)
3. Yatra Nari Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devta (Read it in Sanskrit which means, God lives where women are respected.)

How contradictory? How paradoxical?
A dawn of millenium or a frightful catastrophe? - Depends on your luck, who you run into.
If there is one thing that we can take out from the above information, that would be - Judge every single woman on the merit of their personality.

But we as a civilized society has time and again allowed ourselves to get blinded by one reality of the past - Women are weak.
Till 1950 the american women were not allowed to vote. Indeed they were weak.
Till early twentieth century, Indian women were compelled to die with thier dead husbands. Indeed they were weak.
Dowry deaths in India - happens even now. They could be weak.
What is the other truth?
Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice, Margaret Thacher, Benazir Bhutto, Indira Gandhi, Chandrika Kumaratunga are anything but weak.
So. Why is it that a woman''s tear deceive us most of the time, even if it is fake.
There are so many laws in India that favour woman unjustifiably.
Indian constitution prevents discrimination on gender - article 1l4/15. But what is the actual implementation? Needs a thorough examination.
I will share a story that I read in a book that I had borrowed from a library, while I was in USA. Here is the excerpt.
People saw a white young woman running out of an elevator. There was this black young male that was seen coming out the elevator. We are talking 18th century here. White people decided to lynch that black young male for he could not have allowed to have a go on a white woman. White young woman alleged a rape under pressure from her society. The black community reacted strongly for they knew that there were women dying for that young black male. Rape was out of question. Police and military of USA started wreaking havoc along with the white civilians. The black community was annihilated. This incidence took place in a place called "Tulsa" of Kansas. Later on the woman disclosed it to the police that there was no rape. Unfortunately, two parallel and contradictory story thrived for two centuries before one black male decided to clear the name of his great grand father. Justice was served 200 years later.
 A few personal experiences now.
In the year 1999, a woman of Indian origin took credit for my work and accused me of failing to meet my deadlines. My complaint to female HRs, female managers and female directors didn''t do much.
2. In the year 2000, I was travelling from Patna to a metro in India. My flight seat was given to a female who claimed herself to be an Indian American. I spent a hopeless night in a hotel.
3.In the year 2002, I was working in USA when one of the female co-workers decided to put forward my design in her name and was supported by the manager. Both of them were white.
4. In the year 2003, I was doing my MBA in USA when one of the females from India decided to present my idea in her own name. I was needing financial assitance badly but she got it by virtue of my idea.
5. In the year 2004, an american agent of Indian origin decided to ruin my life. I went to the police in judiciary but in vain.
The list is huge, but lets keep it simple and short.
I have only one point to make. If we can run into a goddess or an angle we can also run into a wicket fairy or a blood sucking lady vampire. Why is it then that it is so difficult for people in general to comprehend that a woman cannot be at fault.
Thisic requires some thinking. So. Next time when you here a crime by a male to a female, just give him a fair trial whether at a social level or at legal level. Hang him, if he is foud guilty after the legal trial, but don''t lynch him, for we are a civilized society.
