winston never did LOVE big brother and the party, neither did he love julia from the beginning. we should say that it is julia who started the whole thing by dropping that short note to winston with the indulging sentence-I LOVE U, which set winston on fire and made start thinking of the possibility of an affair.
one thing is that they each knew of the outcome and the consequences of what they were doing,but they still went ahead, not caring for whatever might happen,although it was clear that they stayed in constant fear of been caught which made it bad because they knew the result of been in such a situation.but they went ahead afterall,and were taught a huge lesson afterwards.
