syam was on his way to the prison to see his friend .they lived together in a rented house. only syam had a job as an accountant in a small shop in town.He was getting
only a meagre salary of Rs 1500 .Monu,his friend, was lazy by nature and would not look
for any work even though he wanted to eat good food and have a comfortable bed to sleep which remained
a dream for both .their breakfast consisted of two pieces of bread and two platain fruit
every morning.lunch was nothing tocall by that name.monu always complained about the
food he had to have there .
on an after noon three months back monu was out for a walk and he reached the top of a
hillock .He used to freequent the place because of its beautiful view .now he felt like spending
a dollar and he did it just as he did when he was a boy.but unfortunately there was a police
jeep down the hillock which he didnt see .He was taken to custody and put in prison accusing
him of deliberately pissing on a police officer in the jeep.Now he is in jail and is being released
today.
syam was just in time to meet his friend on his way out.They sat under the tree across the
road by the church a little further from the prison wall.
''how did you find your three months in jail ?'' asked syam
''you know ,syam , I like it being there again''. said monu
what ? asked syam in surprise
''Atleast I was having good food and good sleep in there''. said monu.''not the dry bread
and black tea you are used to in your hell of a house'' said he.i want to tell you
something,syam.
you must also go and piss on a police officer if you want to have good food and good
sleep.no worry and no need to work.everything is comfortable in there. syam said nothing
.he just smiled and got up and asked his friend to go with him to that hell of a house and
dry bread and black coffee.
they walked home together in silence.A police jeep swept past them in high speed.
