NEW LIVING THROUGH LORD''S GRACE
There are three things that we must do.
The first is to repent for our sins. The word repent means to
change--to change our mind, to change our way of living, to change our
attitude.We can''t do that alone,but God can help us to change.
"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted
out"(Acts 3:19).
The Apostle Paul,when he preached his great sermon in Athens, said,"God
... now commands all
everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30). All
men and women have been commanded by God to repent, to change.And if we
are ever to get to heaven,if we are ever to have our sins forgiven,if
we are ever to have assurance and peace and joy in Christ in this
life,we need to repent.
Second,we need to believe.That word believe means is total trust upon Him. It means that we put our confidence in Christ,we put the
entire weight of our thought in Christ:
"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children
of God, to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12).
We need to put our confidence in Him.We need to commit our self to
Christ without reservation.
Third, we need to confess Him openly.
"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans
10:9).
