All About Brian
(Maurice D. Sassoon)

Publicidade
When the human mind fails to function normally, it dismantles the building blocks of life.
Unlike certain physical diseases for which there may be cures, maladies of the mind seem to be isolated in a singular category. The human mind has the potential to do wonderful things; it can also nullify the opportunity for life''s fulfillment on this planet.

ALL ABOUT BRIAN is a story that is fraught with overtones of paranoia, groundless fears, hallucinations and the hearing of voices. It represents millions of other "Brians," many of whom are shunned, neglected and deserted by families who might opt to let them out on the streets, only to be rendered destitute and homeless.

A severe mental disorder, not only afflicts the victim, but can also disrupt the lives of other members of the family. There is an ongoing research in the way of finding a cure for certain mental diseases, such as schizophrenia, but until that day arrives, mental and emotional problems should be recognized and treated as any other disease that calls for patience and understanding.

The sole objective of this novel is to bring about a clearer awareness of an affliction that millions of sufferers undergo -- a mental and emotional blight that plague the lives of those who are in the grip of a disease that calls for a much more conentrated research toward a possible cure. The novel incorporates many aspects of an affliction that should be better understood, recognized and treated with tender, loving care.
