Harry Potter''s parents were killed by the darkest wizard of all time- Lord Voldemort. He also tried to kill Harry, but the curse just bounced of him and left him with just a lightning shaped scar on his forehead. After this Lord Voldemort disappeared. The headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry- Albus Dumbledore decide that Harry should be left with his only living relatives- The Dursleys. They hated everything about magic. The Dursleys told Harry that his parents died in a car crash. Harry was bossed by them and their son Dudley for ten years. After those miserable years he was told by the Hogwarts'' gamekeeper- Rubeus Hagrid that he was a wizard and will go to Hogwarts. He took Harry to Diagon alley to buy things for his lessons. They also went to Gringotts (wizard bank). Apart from taking out Harry''s gold Hagrid took out a small package saying it was Hogwarts business. He soon found out who killed his parents. After all that he went to platform nine and three quarters and onto the Hogwarts express. On the train he met Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, they soon became his best friends. Harry was placed in the Gryffindor house along with his new friends. After a few weeks of studying he got picked for the Gryffindor quidditch (a sport played on broomsticks) team. On his first match someone bewitched his broom. He was almost knocked off it. Harry, Ron and Hermione suspected Snape- their least favorite teacher. One night Harry hidden under his invisibility cloke saw Snape arguing with prof. Quirrel- a teacher who was frightened of everything. The same night Harry saw his parents in the mirror of erised. Dumbledore explained that it showed the thing you want most. On Halloween a Trool broke into the castle. The trio battled it. They found out that the thing that Hagrid took out of the vault in Gringotts was hidden in Hogwarts and that someone wanted to steal it. Again they thought it was Snape. Hagrid told them by accident that the thing was hidden under a trap door in the forbidden corridor and that it was guarded by Fluffy- a giant 3 headed dog. He also told them that all you had to do to make him fall asleep was play him a bit of music. They also found out that it was the philosopher''s stone, which would bring richness and immortality to the person that had it. They went there, played some music to Fluffy and jumped through the trap door. They landed on a plant that almost strangled them. Then they had to open a door with one of a thousand keys flying around a room. In the chamber there was a broom. Harry mounted it, flew and caught the right key. The next task was chess. They had to play giant living chess. Ron was good at it. They won, but Ron had to stay, because he got injured. The next task was a riddle. Harry and Hermione had to choose a potion that would get one of them through the flames to the next chamber. Hermione solved the riddle and Harry went in to the next room. In the middle of it there was the mirror of erised and professor Quirrel. He had Voldemort hidden under his turban. The stone was hidden in the mirror. Harry saw in the mirror himself with the stone in his pocket. He felt his pocket and the stone was really there. Voldemort told Quirrel were the stone was and Quirell attacked Harry, but when he touched him his skin started to burn. He burned away. Harry collapsed and woke up in the hospital wing. Dumbledore explained everything to him. Quirrel burned because he had Voldemort inside and because of the fact that Harry''s mother had tried to save Harry he Voldemort could not touch him. Gryffindor won the house cup. Harry returned to Pirvet Drive to the Dursleys.
