achebe opens his novel by a political ceremony this after potraying chief the honorable MA Nanga as the most popular and approachable politician in the country. the writer uses odili a character to tell the story.as plot builds up chief nanga is used to describe how nigerian leaders are corrupt and embezzle public funds.for example chief nanga wears nice and expensive clothes while the country is poor.he is also shown to use public ,money to lure girls so as to sleep with him.corruption is also well described during the elections which are both unfair, violent and corrupt.the current government use all ways possible to win the electi9ons including evil ways.the author closes the novel with a coup detat as a solution to the socio-economic needs... but is the revolution helpful/..achebe answers it ....in the book
