The evangelic church under the invocation of the Lord''s Ressurection was begun in 1856 and designed by Richard Lucae from Miechowice and extended in 1889 according to Pawel Jackisch''s design from Bytom, he added two tower facade to the church and in 1899-1902 designed by Mettegan from Cologne. The presbytery and transept were extended at that time. The Neo-Romanesque church with Secession decorations outside the presbytery part, plastered, made of stone hall, on the Latin cross view, with two tower facade. The three nave interior with galleries over aisles. Stained glass-windows have been preserved from the original furnishings: in the presbytery from 1900-1901, from Reuter and Reichart''s firm from Cologne, in the transpt "Ferdynand Muller" from Quedlinburg. Near the church, in 1859-1860, a school was built (today a school for retarded children), in 1874-1875 a presbytery and in 1908 the Union House. The Augsburg-Evangelical commune has one more church in Katowice: a modest Neo-Gothic brick building in Szopienice (ul Bp. H. Bednorza). Its slender tower is similar to the one of St. Jadwig''s church.
