Overview of interstate system-north south interstates are always* odd with the low number interstate in california (I-5) , oregon ,washington and the high number (I-95) running up and down the east coast. East- West interstates are always even* with I-8 in the south and I-90 in the north. Many people fail to read the instructions written in the front of the map and find themselves in life or death situations which could have easily been avoided. Also, being very carefull about offset intersections will save many hours of aimless wandering. Don''t be too proud to use a magnifying glass. Bright green roads are toll roads, and those little red dots are scale houses, many of which have been closed due to lack of funding in part,and because our nation is drawing ever closer to full implementation of martial law. Electronic tracking and GPS systems have made much onsite enforcement obsolete. Navagation systems are a great thing, but don''t forget to understand the system you travel in. The holes are closing fast and unless you want to boil with the rest of the frogs you will pay attention. In short Rand Mcnally is the best map out there. The rest are just pretenders to the throne. * no rule is absolute,never assume and always double check. And remember, the perfect political platform is safety ,safety. Only a madman would argue against safety. And with that our government can toss unlimited amounts of cash at the media so it will say and do whatever Uncle Sam wants.
