Cycling And Its Values, Healthwise, And Momentum Likewise

Cycling is one of the best ways to fulfil the day?s time; the benefits of cycling enable you:   To go places and see, smell, hear, taste, & feel all kinds of things, people, and others.  All these benefits enable you to improve your health outlook as well as enabling you to meet other people from different age groups, who also have interests in certain areas where in some instances they could be learnt from or shared with; therefore cycling has many benefits to achieve.   Health is an area everyone is aiming towards more so now than before, the majority tend to think of exercising in certain programs, with very few realising that cycling can be used as an exercise towards ones health in one; whilst it can also be seen as a form of relaxation which has many other benefits one gains from it, therefore ?ENCOURAGEMENT? is an important element that needs to be highlighted in many different ways to be able to get the message to a wide cross-section of society; that in itself will take time but as an aim it will improve things all over.   It came to my mind the other day, that it would be good if you could get a set of points for a certain distance you cycle; like a certain number of kilometres (kms) you get a point or points, which as the score builds up then you could go to get certain things from certain places for a certain number of points.  This would also be like the ?flyby? points, which would surely encourage more people to cycle, which would then make more clean and healthy air; in those sorts of ways there would be i.                 more of a healthy environment to breathe in ii.               more of a safe haven, which would bring more friendliness iii.             improvements in community programs with more positive outlook to the future iv.             learning more of the ?flora & fauna? by cycling in outdoor environments which will further enhance ones interests which could be shared with others, which will also enable a wider cross-section of the population becoming more interested. v.               Reducing the number of deaths in the community by encouraging everyone to become more friendly and sharing with one another, which will spread elsewhere gradually, and will finally get all over. vi.             Finally, with all these points and many others to be laid out later on its hoped they will ?ENCOURAGE? everyone from the ?CYCLIST/S? to the staff and members of BICYCLE VICTORIA?; who its hoped will make EVERYONE become more ?SHARING & CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER? instead of the way everyone is, where they are only concerned about themselves and just worry about their time at work and home, whereas there are a few who spread out, but it must be INCREASED in order to get the message & exercise to the MANAGEMENT of BV.
Motivation, the last frontier. With enough of it any ordinary person can become a cyclist with a program set out as an ?aim of relaxation/fitness program?; this sort of program will enable the person to improve their health outlook as well as many other benefits that will be enhanced as time goes by.    Without it the same person could end up begging for change downtown. Even a tremendously talented rider will go nowhere without motivation which builds up as you go along with your ?cycling? as well as other forms of relaxation/exercise including ?walking? which also has its advantages likewise. As a beginner in ?cycling? you need to identify what motivates you and cultivate the sources of your motivation. Some ways in which they can be achieved are:

GOALS. One of the best sources of motivation is setting goals. Be specific and put them down on paper. Define your GOALS clearly and make them attainable. Short-term goals are more important than long term goals and should be even more precisely defined. Set short-term goals for things like going on a good ride this afternoon, doing five sprints, bettering your time on a known course, etc. Set long term goals such as training at least five days a week, placing in specific outings throughout the 3000 kilometres of tracks, upgrade your ?cycling interests?, become involved with other people with ?cycling tours? which add more benefits to be achieved as additional ones with the ones described above.  They are:   a)    bicycle tracks in the countryside b)    tours that you could try and set up with others c)    increasing your knowledge of the people, places & things you witness d)    enabling you to build up your health for your future, which will add other benefits as time goes by and many others.DO NOT STRESS WINNING when defining your goals. Instead stress enjoying the ride and doing your best in every ride and practice.

GROUP TRAINING. Training with friends, riding as a group, and all the other social benefits of cycling are also great for motivation. This is what clubs should be all about. With or without a club, group training is vastly more effective than individual training. The same intensity that can make solo training a challenge comes naturally in a good group. Ever notice how easy a smooth rotating paceline seems, until you arrive home to find a surprising soreness in the quadriceps? Why beat yourself over the head when few phone calls (or emails) will find plenty of.
