Back in 1453 in Mainz, a mute boy named ?Endymion Spring? was serving his master, Herr Gutenberg who wanted to be the pioneer in the art of printing. He wanted to print and sell many copies of bibles so that he could become wealthy. Endymion was his apprentice for the printing business. Another man, Johann Fust was investing his money in Gutenberg?s printing enterprise under his own terms and conditions. Fust had a mysterious chest which was carried around by his servant, Peter, who then became good friends with Endymion. Endymion overheard Fust telling secrets about the chest to Peter which aroused Endymion?s curiosity about what was in the chest. Many centuries later, in an Oxford Library, a boy Blake finds a blank book titled ?Endymion Spring?. The volume is blank but has fine veins running through it and seems to quivers as if it is alive. It leads Blake to a series of adventurous events. Strengths of the book: The plot of the story is unique ? it is different from a fairy tale. The book has interesting events one after another that keeps you engrossed. Example: Blake finds a blank book on which a riddle appears that only he can read. Matthew Skelton has an enthralling writing style. Example: ?You have stumbled onto something much larger than you can possibly imagine??.?
Prompt: Did chapters end with cliffhangers? Answer: Yes, quite a few chapters ended with cliffhangers in the story. For example, in the end of 17th chapter of the book, Blake finds a black page in the blank book, that says, ?I am watching?? The mystery about who sent this message fuelled my curiosity to go on reading the next chapter. Such mysterious cliffhangers keep me glued to the book.
