The Purpose-driven Life
(Rick Warren)

Publicidade
This is an attention-grabber of a book, even from the very first sentence: It's not about you.  And from this premise, the whole book unfolds, slowly and gently and yet firmly to guide the reader into a "spiritual journey" to find one's bearing.  It goes on to say what or who it (life) is all about.
It has a different look to the usual Christianity books and how-to's in becoming at peace with one's self and finding one's God.
It offers a logical step-by-step process that engenders group studies as well as personal reflection in going through the voyage of finding the truth about life.
To all who want to answer the question "what is life for?" or, as the tagline of the book asks, "What on earth am i here for?"  this is a good directional guide.  A kind of spiritual map. And for the uninitiated and curious, there are even identifiers and definitions as the book is read chapter by chapter.
For the jaded Christian, this is a good wake up call to what is missing in the Christian life.
This is a good tool for bringing some order in life, and it also works as a life study.
And the reader has nothing to lose by going through the whole process.  There are no quotas to meet, no enforced labor and no stringent assignments.  Just a lot of reflection and reading and comparing notes -- either with others or with previous notes that the reader has done. And the reader can stop and junk the whole thing whenever he wants.  He has nothing to lose except knowing what changes would be possible in his life. The reader who decides to go through the whole process will find the rewards rich and immeasurable and he could have a different and brand new persperctive on life.
