Rather than suffering due to the separation, she gets to spend the occasional weekend with her father who is an adventurer. He owns a fishing boat and at a very early age she is taught to dive and know the Sea and how to pilot ships. This way she has the best of both worlds. When she arrives back at home after an exciting weekend with her father, she cannot under any circumstances tell her mother of all the dangerous things they had done, so her only comment every time is that it was all right. In the first story Coriola and her father go scuba diving alone in a rough sea. A mishap with the heavy anchor under water, cause him to break his arm. The steel ladder falls overboard just as he was getting back on board. She is now alone on the large fishing trawler and she has the task of helping him to get back onto the ship. She tried using the radio to get help, but the authorities shouted that children are not allowed to play with ships? radios. Using an oar stuck into the exhaust she eventually manages to get him up and has to pilot the boat alone to the harbour to get him to hospital. In the second story she is a bit older, and while at sea, they decide to assist another boat that is in trouble. Little did they know that the two occupants of the other boat were bank robbers, who were planning tohijack her fathers boat. Her father gets their boat going, but then things go horribly wrong. He ends up in the sea between the boats and they try to run him down with their boat. Coriola saves him by firing a signal pistol at them and sets their boat on fire. She and her father take them to port where the police would be waiting. In the third story she is yet older and invites her best friend Annabel to accompany her and her father on a diving safari up the west coast of Namibia. After diving in a sea cave that they discover, they find that it used to be a secret U-boat base during the last war, but was now occupied by a band of modern day pirates. They are seen and shot at with machine guns and had to evade a Landrover chasing them among the dunes of the Namib desert. They then evade and cause to crash a Cessna aircraft the pirates used to try and kill them, because they knew too much and could alert the authorities. In order to escape they dive into the cave at night and steal the pirates? boat. They return home in the boat that ?belonged? to the pirates. Here we find a thirteen year old girl piloting a fast motor launch at night. She is equally comfortable navigating with radar as discussing boys with her friend. Back at home she informs her mother the holiday was all right. The last story sees them again at sea, this time with totally incompetent boyfriends tagging along. They respond to a mayday call from a ship in trouble in rough seas and end up towing back to port, the Nefertari, a multi-million dollar mega-yacht. Good teamwork between father and daughter ensure that everyone arrive home safely and very well off, since the salvage fee on such a vessel is nothing to be sneezed at. The weekend was not too bad. End.
