CHAPTER ONE
A FAMILY HISTORY
In 2003, I received a book with the Turner Family Genealogy. It goes from 1898 until the present time.
Last Saturday, I received the Hodgson Genealogy. These papers were just discovered in England when one of the people died. The two Genealogies now date back into the pre Confederation period. Very few of the Hodgson family members are still here. Most of them had since died off.
1868: Allan Hodgson was born
1889: Muriel Hodgson was born
1898: James Lamb was born
Early 1920?s: James Lamb and Muriel Hodgson are married and this moved to Canada, settling in Windsor, Ontario
December 2, 1922: Ronald Francis Turner was born to Archibald Turner.
January 10, 1925: Laurel Joyce Lamb was born to James and Muriel Lamb.
April 23, 1948: Ronald Francis Turner and Laurel Joyce Lamb were married at St. Mary?s Anglican Church, Sandwich, Ontario.
December 30, 1950: Robert Allan James Turner was born to Ronald and Laurel Turner.
April 30, 1952: Laurel Anne Turner was born to Ronald and Laurel Turner Sr.
July 11, 1955: Mary Jane Damphousse was born.
October 1959-April 1960: The family decides to purchase a new summer cottage.
Summer 1960: First summer in new cottage.
Summer 1974: Robert Allan James Turner marries Mary Jane Damphousse in Windsor.
March 22, 1977. I was born to Robert Allan James Turner and Mary Jane Turner at Hotel Dieu Hospital. See more in ?Chapter 2: Birth?
1980: Family moves to Oshawa. See Chapter 3: ?The Move to Oshawa?.
May 24, 1982: Ashley James Turner is born in Oshawa.
Summer 1983: Laurel Anne Turner marries Peter Morley Beechey in Windsor and then moves to Tillsonburg.
1987-1992: Robert and Mary Jane Turner files for divorce. See the chapter on the divorce.
December 22, 1989: Me, my brother and my father move to Kitchener for eight months.
August 11, 1990: The three of us plus my father?s girlfriend move to Arthur where most of the family are to this day.
August 6, 1999: Ronald Turner dies.
November 14, 2005: Ashley James Turner dies as a result of an automobile accident at Stratford, Ontario.
