One day, Emma was browsing her way through the aisles in the DIY store. it was difficult to choose from the vast display of paint and wallpaper. She stood there, poised and with one finger on her bottom lip, while her eyes were browsing left and right and up and down through the many choices. If only she had help in choosing, but her best friend, Mary, was in work for another couple of hours. It had been a dreary start to the day, with showers now and then, so it was a perfect day to spend indoors and do a bit of decorating. Emma had lived alone for some time now and had a thought that she wished she was not alone. Her ex-husband, Ted, was great at decorating and handy to have for general repairs around the home. ''Shall i choose burgandy red to go with the cream?'' she murmered. the current colour of her living room walls were a ghastly sea grass with purple pin-stripes. It had taken a couple of days to decide whether to strip the wallpaper off and start again or just paint over it or even paste new wallpaper over the old. she got her notepad out of the sideboard drawer and sat down to get her ideas onto paper - before she forgot. Sher sat, with the tip of her pen resting gently between her teeth, thinking of a sure method of approach.
