The Man With Two Left Feet & Other Stories
(P.G. Wodehouse)
PG Wodehouse defies superlatives with his inimitable style. In the present collection are contained some thirteen short stories, each more humorous than the other. The characters are comic, of course, but highly believable. The first story is told endearingly about a fallible detective who wins his lady love on the stage under the unlikeliest of circumstances. Extricating Young Gussie is about the barmy character Gussie Finknottle, the newt geek, who surfaces with hilarious effect in almost Bertie Wooster novels. When Bertie?s frosty Aunt Agatha sends out her visibly reluctant nephew to din some sense into his nutty cousin, no one is prepared for the dénouement, least of all Bertie. Other stories such as Wilton?s Holiday, Crowned Heads, and the eponymous Man With Two Left Feet are guaranteed to prolong the life of the reader.
