PART 1 ? WEBSITES & DOMAIN NAMES:
A. Conduct a thorough ?Who-is-Who?? Investigation:
If you want to do a very thorough ?due diligence? study on any program on the Net, including critical issues regarding their websites? registration, authenticity of the Registrant, names & particulars of owners, telephone numbers and addresses on record at time of registration of website,, etc, here is ?how to go about it?:-
Step 1:  Go to www.whois.domaintools.com
 
Step 2: Type in the particular domain name or WEBSITE address you want to look-up in the space provided; (e.g. www.xyz.com); and the following information will prompt up immediately:-
1.    Page Information ?
§         Website Title &
§         Record Type;
2.    Server Data ?
§         Server Type,
§         IP Address,
§         IP Location,
§         Response Code,
§         Blacklist Status ? whether clear or not, SSL Certifificate,
§         Website Status ? whether active or inactive, Reverse IP;
3.    Registry Data ?
§         Registrar?s Name & Address,
§         creation date,
§         expiry date,
§         Registrar Status ? whether active ICANN certified or not,
§         who-is? Server,
§         Name Server
4.    ?Who-is? Record ? i.e.
§         Domain Name,
§         creation/expiry dates,
§         Organization?s Name & full Street Address, Town, State & Country of domicile,
§         **Admin?s Name & Full Street Address, Town, State & Country of Domicile, Admin?s e-mail, Admin?s Telephone/Fax No.,
§         ***Tech?s Name & Full Street Address, Town, State & Country of Domicile, Tech?s e-mail, Tech?s Telephone/Fax No. Name Server.
. **Admin = The Website/Program Owner or Main Operator.
*** Tech = The Website Designer ? whether in-house or contracted.
 
Step 3: Visit the following critical sites to search for more useful information about the program:
1.    For on-line Network Utilities
a.    http://www.showmyip.com: this shows the direct location of the particular IP Address, ISP Provider, etc.
b.    http://centralops.net/co - This is a service of :Hexillion. It combines 3 websites together ? i.e. www.hexillion.com, www.registryfusion.com and www.centralops.net and provides  the following critical searches on:
                                                                         i.      Domain Dossier ? that investigates Domains and IP Addresses;
                                                                       ii.      Domain Check ? to see availability of Domain Name;
                                                                     iii.      E-mail Dossier ? to validate & investigate e-mail addresses;
                                                                     iv.      Browser Mirror ? to see what your browser reveals;
                                                                       v.      Ping ? to see if a host is reachable;
                                                                     vi.      Trace-route ? to trace the path from one server to another;
                                                                   vii.      NsLookUp ? Look up various domain resource records with this version of the classic utility;
                                                                 viii.      AutoWhois ? Get Whois records automatically for domains worldwide;
