Gold mine ? Dream didn?t?t end for the AngloGoldAshanti Company. It exploits the gold of Cuiabá Mine, in the depths of Liberty Hills, between the districts of Caeté and Sabará, in the neighborhoods of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Forget the old images of far west where the galleries were always pulling down. They are deeper, but safer. There is no longer misery and death. There are no more slave miners. There is no longer dust, insalubrities, darkness and explosions. In this modern mine, 600 men work in turns extracting the material to obtain 22 quilogrameters of gold per day. This material also obtains sulfuric acid and silver. 700 meters beyond surface, the miners look like astronauts, with every protection they need. The galleries are provided with conditioned air and the floor is constantly watered to eliminate dust. The galleries are 20 meters width.
