Romeo And Juliet
(William Shakespeare)
Romeo and Juliet, a play by William Shakespeare, is about a young boy who believes he is in love with a lady, who does not show any interest in him, and a young girl who at first does not believe that marriage is something that she would like to do. These two belong to two totally different families, though they are alike in dignity, they have been in a feud for many years. This story proves that no matter what the age is, true love always pervails, no matter what the ending may be. When this play starts, Romeo, no older than fifteen, is mourning over a lady, saying he is in love, but his feelings are not returned. His cousin Benvolio and a few of his friends convince him to crash the Capulet ball, where he first sees the child of Capulet, Maiden Juliet. He falls in love instantly. Now right there, could be looked at in many ways. One way is that he is moving too fast, and that for all he knows she could be ungallent, deficient, or vain even. But another way to look at it is for those who believe love at first sight exists. No matter what the age, it still exists. Later on in this book Romeo and Juliet elope. But soon after the wedding, Tybalt, Juliets cousin, kills Romeos best friend. Almost insane with rage, Romeo seeks his revenge, even though he knew that the Prince of Verona has ordered the two families never to rampage in his streets again. Because he managed to get his revenge, he was banished from the city, instead of being put to death, as it was originally decreed, because of what had transpired to lead to Romeos rage. But this also shows the level of maturity Romeo has. He knew the law, but he let his anger consume him, and he killed his beloved wifes cousin. Even before his friend was killed, he looked apon Tybalt with love, because of the marriage, and refused to fight him even though he was being called out. He was very mature in this, but after the murder, his maturity fell to rage. While Romeo was gone Juliets father was making her marry another man. So she went to the very priest who had weded her to Romeo for help, and he gave her something that would make her presumed dead, though she would be merely sleeping. He also sent a letter to Romeo stating the plan, but he never got the letter, and assumed Juliet was dead, and killed himself with poison at her resting place in order to be with her. Apon waking, Juliet finds her lover dead, and kills herself with his dagger. Though Romeo and Juliet were merely young teenagers, their love for one another carried them away together, and finally ended the feud between the families. True love has no rules, and it has no age limit. And even if your maturity level carries u to trouble, or like the "two star crossed lovers who took their lives", something good always comes out of it. Whether it be a child, or an ended feud, love conquers all.
