The Promise
(CHIEMI)
The Promise deals with issues of loss and death from the perspective of a young boy. The reader may, at first, be put off by the subject. However, the tale leads one along with the gentle touch of a grandfatherÆs hand. The book is graced by a garden of beautiful art which is a trip in itself. ChiemiÆs readers will be inspired by the transformative nature of inter-generational family love and the gifts it can give to youngsters. Rarely do we find a book that more appropriately deals with the issue of death as it relates to children. This beautifully written and beautifully illustrated book would be a good addition to any family''s library.
