The Davinci Code
(Dan Brown)

Publicidade
I debated with myself for months before I read this book. You see I married into a family that includes a long line of religious back round, not to mention my own strict catholic back round. I had heard so much controversy about the book and the movie. After I finally convinced myself that no book in the world would be able to break my strong religious beliefs, I read the book. It took me longer to decide to read it than it took me to actually read it. I was so enthralled by the mystery aspect of it I almost forgot that it was introducing a new story of Jesus Christ. I had built a personal relationship with the characters and was more interested in them than a message of a secret society that protected the supposedly true story of Jesus Christ. In the end I am not sure what all the controversy was about. Maybe it was because I viewed the book as a mystery fiction novel, mainly because if it were truly trying to sway my religious beliefs it was not very adamant about it. Even admitting in the end that things are better left the way they are. I feel that the opinions of the Davinci Code believers is better than the beliefs of an atheist. Dan Brown did not force his believes on anyone he simply put his believes together to create a truly enthralling entertaining story. Once I began reading the book I could not put it down. This catholic recommends the book to anyone no matter there believes, if you have strong Christian ties this mystery novel will not sway your beliefs.
