Harry Potter and the Sevens

The mystery of Wands

Beneath
all the magic and the mysteries of the Harry Potter saga there is a hidden
number system forming the very foundation upon which the entire story is marvelously
constructed. These number systems are like the atoms of the universe. Of course
this may sound a little weird but the truth is stranger than fiction.

This is just the beginning; there are more interesting
patterns and number webs with which the magic of the Harry Potter saga is
blossomed.

7

Apart
from various patterns, there are numbers which recur throughout the book like a
spider web connecting all the nook and corner. Seven ? the most powerful magical number. It is the most commonly
used number in the Harry Potter saga. Here are some of the important seven
letters names. Horcrux, Phoenix, Weasley,
Granger, Severus, Deathly,
Hallows?.

The list goes on? What could be the reason for choosing
seven as the most powerful magical number? May be the number of letters in
Rowling!!! Almost every important place, teacher?s class rooms, common rooms,
room of requirement, etc lie on the seventh floor of Hogwarts. Number of books,
course duration in Hogwarts, number of registered animagi, cost of Harry?s wand
<7 galleons>,
number of players per team in Quidditch, number of weasley?s children, number
of secret tunnels in Hogwarts, number of bottles in Snape?s puzzle, number of
words in ?Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets?, ?Harry Potter and the
Prisoner of Azkaban?, ?Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?, ?Harry Potter and
the Half-Blood Prince?? all end up in the magical number ? seven. Above all,
the first chapter of every book begins exactly in the 7th page.

Before entering
into the next level - the HP cipher here is something worth noting.

?Neville Longbottom? - the only student having 17 letters in his name.

Neville Longbottom

Number of letters in ?Neville? = 7

Number of letters in ?Neville Longbottom?= 17

Philosopher?s Stone ? Bloomsbury
Edition ? The Mirror of Erised 12>

There was an inscription carved around the top of the
Mirror Of Erised:

Erised stra ehru oyt
ube cafru oyt on wohsi.

Deciphering the italics (reading from right to left) we
get:

I show not your face
but your heart?s desire.

Reading from right to left
is one of a code employed in the HP saga. The encoded form of 17 is 71.

The Journey From Platform Nine And
Three-Quarters

?A round-faced boy? - Neville
Longbottom, was mentioned for the first time in the HP saga.

The Sorting Hat

The hat took the longest time to
decide with Neville into Gryffindor.

So what makes Neville Longbottom special?

Is he related with the prophecy
along with Harry and Voldemort?

Was he underestimated the whole
time?

Or was he kept hidden as a secret
weapon to vanquish the Dark Lord?

The Twist in the Tale

The Prophecy

?The one with the power to vanquish the Dark
Lord approaches born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh
month dies and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have
powers the Dark Lord knows not and either must die at the hand of the other for
neither can live while the other survives?the one with the power to vanquish
the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies?

Every
one knows that Harry is the chosen one, Voldemort chose Harry as his foe. But
if you carefully observe Dumbledore?s explanation over the prophecy you would
notice that, Dumbledore had not explained the last part of the prophecy to
Harry Potter. The phrase ?The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord? is
repeated twice in the prophecy. There is no need to repeat the phrase once
again if ?The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord? refers to Harry
Potter as this adds nothing new to the prophecy. Every word in the prophecy has
its own significance. Thus the only justification that can be offered for the
presence of the last phrase in the prophecy is that it refers to a distinct
fact, though not directly. The fact being, ?Neville too has the power to
vanquish The Dark Lord along with Harry Potter?.

?The
one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord (Harry Potter) approaches born
to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies and the
Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have powers the Dark Lord
knows not and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live
while the other survives?the one with
the power to vanquish the Dark Lord (Neville Longbottom) will be born as
the seventh month dies?
