The Seven Songs Of Merlin
(T.A. Barron)
T.A Barron''s riveting tale of Merlin as a young boy continues with this second in a series of seven books. After helping to vanquish Stangmar, puppet of the evil Rhita Gawr, Merlin has been given the task of coaxing the lands back to life with the Flowering Harp. While on his journeys through the land of Fincayra, he wishes to see his mother. When he draws her back to Fincayra, she is struck by a fatal illness. There is only one cure and Merlin needs to master all seven Songs of Wizardry before he can get it. Can he do it in time? What does he need to learn in order to master the Songs? The author does a great job of illustrating how two children, Merlin and his friend Rhia, can have fabulous potential but are still lacking the maturity and wisdom of adults. Who should they trust? It is hard to tell who is an ally and who is an enemy. It is thrilling to read this series and imagine that''s how Merlin became the great and famed wizard. T.A. Barron is a masterful storyteller and I?m anxious to get on with the series!
