From the very moment I read the book I found it very difficult to put down. The story is in itself intriguing. The characters are unlike normal people, and yet the book has a sense of normality to it.The book Veronika decides to die by Paolo Coelho is a tale of a woman who had everything she wanted; she had a good job, she had men wanting her, she was witty and smart, she had great parents and good friends . She had nothing to live for anymore, so she tried to kill herself with sleeping pills. To her dismay she did not die instead she awoke in a mental institution. She lived with schizophrenic''s and so on and so forth. She was diagnosed with having an illness that would soon take her life, little did she know that the illness diagnosed by the head doctor of the mental institution, was just an experiment. As odd as it is she fell in love with a schizoprenic. Knowing that she would day any time she escaped with her lover(the schizoprenic). Living in the mental institution she slowly realized, with the help of the inbound patients, how much she valued her life.
