Not only has Colin Powell penned a good story, it has many principles in areas like leadership and parenting that will leave an impression on anyone who reads it. But the most important aspect of the book is that it offers an alternative view of a general who is remembered for his tough talk and army association. Colin Powell is well remembered for the infamous speech he gave at
the UN General Assembly justifying the reasons to go to war against
Iraq. The autobiography does not cover this event so don''t expect a
book with controversies. In a nutshell, it says what it takes to succeed in the army and the ups and downs that come with it. My American Journey is book that is worth the read for anyone who loves one liners or just anyone who is looking for a good story.
