A Cat Called Birmingham

A Cat Called Birmingham
This is a book about Birmingham or Brum for short; a semi-long haired grey tabby with a black line down his back to his tail that made him look like a skunk, he was the runt of the litter so he didn?t have a good start in life.
This is Chris Pascoe?s first book and his biography of Brum is both funny and sweet as well as thought provoking. Brum is the most accidental cat ever known, he set fires to himself, falling from great heights is another of his specialities. I think Brum has got more than the average 9 lives of a cat he seems to be indestructible!
The best thing about this book is the way Brums catastrophic life affects his family, erstwhile girlfriend Sammy and any person he meets. The interactions between human and feline are what makes this book remarkable; Chris Pascoe entertains us through his obvious love and affection for this animal despite what scrapes and escapades he gets his owner involved in.
Chris Pascoe has written a witty sequel about Brum called You Can Take The Cat out of Slough.
