Devil-may-care
(Elizabeth Peters)

Publicidade
Ellie is a young beautiful woman, rich and engaged.  She is using her vacation to house-sit for her charmingly eccentric Aunt Kate.  Kate?s beautiful home is warm and inviting to Ellie.  Her stay begins wonderfully sleepy, as Ellie lets the summer laziness sweep over her.  She enjoys the companionship of the invisible housekeepers and the plethora of animals that call Kate?s home their own.  But the lazy summer days bring also mystery and intrigue, as strange encounters interrupt Ellie?s vacation and her sleep.

Ellie, with the help of good friends, must find out who is orchestrating the events, what exactly is going, and why someone keeps searching the house.  She is drawn into a mystery that seems to surround the high society people in the area and a secret that the loving old house itself is keeping.  As she digs for the answers to questions surrounding the recent events, she must also come to grips with the questions of her own heart.

Elizabeth Peters has created a wonderful tale of mystery and intrigue.   Her characters are at their most charming, keeping the reader engaged and wanting more.  Peters has built a tale of mystery, high society, and love.  The reader is hooked from the first page by a book that they can not put down until the end.
