This story of the great mathematician, John Forbes Nash, is truly awe-inspiring. It tells of his brilliance, his achievements and his struggle with schizophrenia. Though at times the book seems to launch into unnecessary details, all the more so for those not interested in the field of Mathematics, it is an inspiring book. It takes one through the life of John Nash from his early childhood, his college days at Princeton, his career in mathematics to the golden moment when he received a Nobel Prize in Economics for the development he brought about in Game Theory. He shared his Nobel Prize with two other game theorists. A Beautiful Mind explores every nook and cranny of John Nash's life. It reveals his innermost thoughts, his infatuations for men, his ambitious and competitive, yet reticent nature, his broken first affair, the advent of schizophrenia and the love and support of his wife, Alicia Nash, which led to his eventual recovery. It tells the tale of a magnificent mind, lost due to a deadly disease, and won again by the sheer power of love. Undoubtedly, this book is worth a read and should not be missed by any lover of Mathematics.
